Yoshimitsu |
- 2x Tsuka Splitter: 20 Damage, Punch, Before the attack: Strike & K&P cards owned: 3rd card +15 Hit
- 3x Sakanobori: 12 Damage, Kick, Before the attack: Block: +1 Parry
- 3x Soul Stealer: 17 Damage, Punch, After the attack: Head-on card: +7 HP
- 1x Kimon Matagi: 20 Damage, Punch, After the attack: Opp HP ≥ 75: +10 HP
- 2x Nozuchi Fumi: 15 Damage, Kick, Before the attack: Opp BLock: Card +35 Hit
- 3x Shisetsu Genman: 16 Damage, Kick, After the attack: Cards = Opp cards: +1 card & Opp -1 card
- 1x Magatama: 20 Damage, Kick, After the attack: HP ≤ Opp Hp: +25 HP & Cards concealed
- Power Card: 175 HP First turn: +2 concealed cards & Opp +1 card
Similar to Deck 04, this deck adopts the 3x Shisetsu Genman, 3x Sakanobori, Magatama, Kimon Matagi. Personally, I feel those cards are mandatory in the current metagame and wouldn't go anywhere without them.
Strategy
This deck plays very similar to Deck 04, except less randomness and more healing so I will not retype the strategy segment form Deck 04. Soul Stealer works very well with Sakanobori and Shisetsu Genman to maximize the full healing capabilities. If you don't have time for a long grueling game, do not play this deck because when facing other decks with strong healing, it becomes a game of Patience as oppose to wits. The only trouble this deck may have is against Kazuya. There are 2 types of Kazuya's,the ones who have 3x Demon God Fist, and the ones who don't have any. Approach each with the same incentive of bringing their HP to 81 and fish for a 1 Strike KO as usual. If the enemy Kazuya runs Demon God Fists in their deck, there is without a doubt they intend to us those cards to heal. Fortunately, Demon God Fist on the field means Nozuchi Fumi can become useful in position 2 (and sometimes 1). This becomes extremely dangerous for the enemy Kazuya and they will risk much from "blocking to heal". If they opt to strike, they will have no cards, and you can decide whether you want to drop them below 80 or not.
Conclusion
Currently my best deck. I am very confident to reach 1300+ by the end of this week. The tournament just started so only time will tell. My advice for players running this deck: PLAY PATIENTLY. There should be no other deck that can "out heal" this one except for an all-heal Yoshimitsu deck but that deck does not have any striking power and will not be able to kill you. Against those kind of decks, just pray you have a strong connection and a lot of time to kill.Don't forget to comment, ask questions, like, subscribe, etc. I am always open to suggestions or any forms of criticism =].
Unfortunately I cant get Magatama by any ways, It's never In stock and I cant get It out of a Ultra pack either.. I only have Iwatsubute at the time. What could I replace Magatama with?
ReplyDeleteMagatama is irreplaceable, but a possible substitute I suppose would be Heshikirigari
DeleteYour deck is very similar to the third version of the deck I am using now with very good results. Consider that on sunday afternoon I was beating almost every opponent in the 1250-1300 area.
ReplyDeleteThe basic version is:
- Magatama
- Kimon Matagi
- Kamikaze
- 3x Shisetsu Genman
- 3x Spirited Away
- 2x Dragonfly Fist
- Poison Breath
- 3x Soul Stealer
If you want more damage, exchange the Soul Stealers with Tsuka Splitters (version 2). It can help especially at the low ratings, where kazuyas are more than half the opponents.
If you want even more damage, exchange the Poison Breath and Dragonfly Fist with 3x Nozuchi Fumi (version 3). There it is unbalanced, in my view, tough.
I don't use Sakanobori because Shisetsu Genman, Spirited Away and Dragonfly Fist make me draw very quickly, so I Strike more often than Block.
I would also like to substitute Magatama with Iwatsubute, to have a deck that could win fights without ever playing strike, but I am not sure if it is feasible (I don't have the gold for Iwatsubute, anyway).
As I said, the first version of my deck performed very well. I usually attacked when SG or SA were triggered, to start with a new card. Also, I try to stay with the same number of cards of my opponents, or they will block not to reach me. Attacking when they focus has this effect. Finally, attacking often makes the triggering of SA and DF more likely.
Well, I'd like to see your comment, now.
Ciao
Forgot to mention: with this deck I usually strike early, at 1-3 cards. I only go to 5th card if I am going to use Kamikaze. This helps against Lili too.
DeleteInteresting deck Kubric!
DeleteI manage to obtain 3x Spirited Away and used them for a couple of fights, but I REALLY dislike Spirited Away as it makes me feel restricted to 1 card striking otherwise they become useless. I tried a deck with 3x Dragonfly Fist, 3x Spirited Away, and 3x Shisetsu Genman with Kimon Matagi and Magatama, I forgot the 4 other cards. I hated that deck.
I know what you mean by striking when they focus, triggering Dragonfly Fist/Shisetsu Genman to keep the card count equal and at 1 to get Spirited Away effect. The thing is it gets predictable and when they opponent decides to block and you focus, I always ended up with a Spirited Away or a card in off position. If the opponent has a decent source of healing (Law, Yoshimitsu, Lili, Nina) they will catch on and when they play conservatively, they end up healing all the damage.
I really like Sakanobori as it shuts down 3 or more cards in many common decks, (Paul's Shoulder Tackle, Flash Elbow, Phoenix Wings; Kazuya's High Damage cards, Devastator; Lili's Rose Pique, Peacock Waltz) so I like to have it in my Yoshimitsu Decks in the current meta. Furthermore, it syncs SO well with Soul Stealer, Shisetsu Genman, Kimon Matagi, and Magatama to maximize healing.
How does your first version perform against Kazuya? does it aim to dropp them below 80 by means of Kamikaze? I find many of my decks without a little muscle are difficult to play against Kazuya.
I can give your deck a shot in Free Fight, but I REALLY not so sure about Spirited Away, I really hate that card, lol.
@Kubric, I wonder what you do If Kimon Matagi or Magatama shows up as 1-3 card do you still strike, do you keep focussing or do you block?
DeleteI am answering as anonymous as It won't let me choose a name from my iPad.
ReplyDeleteProbably I like my deck better because I don't have the patience to wait for the perfect blow while the opponent keeps striking. I hate, especially against Law, who can buff the 4th card.
Against kazuya, I need to blow, but I am often fast enough to assess them before he can answer. I seldom arranged a 90h points blow even with your decks, anyway.
In the end it is impoant to find the deck that best suits your style.
And some balance to improve yoshi cards would do no damage.
Sorry, but from iPad writing here is almost impossible.
ReplyDeleteI meant that I need 2 blows to finish kazuyas.
KubRic
King of Iron Fist,
ReplyDeleteI which order would you upgrade the cards from the deck you posted?
High Priority: Nozuchi Fumi, Soul Stealer, Tsuka Splitter
DeleteMid Priority: Sakanobori, Kimon Matagi
Low Priority: Shisetsu Genman
Don't have to listen to this. Upgrade accordingly to your playstyle. If you are aggressive, then get Nozuchi and Tsuka Upgraded. Defensive, get Soul Stealer. Bit of Both, Shisetsu Genman.
I made that list based on how much more you get when upgrading. Sakanobori you get +1 Punch Parry => +1 Parry in my opinion, isn't that big in the current meta. No one really uses a Pure Kick deck except Lili.
Tsuka, Nozuchi both provide 9-20 damage boosts which are pretty significant, so I selected them in the High Priority.
I was referring "upgrade to rare" sorry that I forgot to write that. all my cards are currently Uncommon and I think Its not a big difference upgrading Soul Stealer from Uncommon to rare as It only adds +2HP and Shisetsu Genman doesn't even change. Could you write your priority's to upgrade from Uncommon to Rare?
DeleteKing of Iron First,
DeleteWhy do you only use 2 Tsuka Splitter and 2 Nozuchi Fumi? You could use 3 of each to get more Damage. Also I would consider taking in Dragonfly Fist as Its a really good card on 1st or 2nd position and It appears often there.
Actualy Nozuchi Fumi is a very good candiate to have only two of in the deck, mainly because you rarely have any benefit from multiples in one hand.
DeleteTsuka Splitter though you really cannot have enough of :) i would never use less than 3. Amazing card really.
@Sincerity,
DeleteBy uncommon to rare, do you mean silver to gold? My list was created with that in mind. Soul Stealer is amongst High priority because the 2 HP it adds per turn is actually pretty high when you play. Shisetsu Genman barely changes and is therefore on the low priority.
Yppolitia is right regarding why I only use 2 Nozuchi Fumi. Drawing more than 1 after position 3 is kind of losing out. Alternatively, you can sub in a Tsuka Splitter over Soul Stealer. but I prefer Soul Stealer more. All preference.
Finally Got Magatama from one oft my Clan mates now I can try your deck!
ReplyDeleteAwesome. Magatama is really a game changer for Yoshimitsu.
DeleteDid you actually make the 1300+ points with this deck?
ReplyDeleteHi Yppollitia,
DeleteYup, 1339 to be exact. But that was a couple weeks ago. I will upload a picture of me fighting with Boston Brawler as Yoshimitsu. It was with Deck 04 I believe.
Hi King of Iron Fist,
DeleteDid you change your deck now after the update came out? Now that Naguri Kabuto Wari Exists you should change your deck.
I am trying this funny deck: under 1300 is good because players are not prepared.
ReplyDelete3 shisetsu genman
3 spirited away
3 dragonfly fist
3 mumyo jugi ken
1 hesikirigari
1 poison breath
1 kimon matagi
Identity: 165+1 card
Play: focus and strike with 1 card (2 if first card is shisetsu).
Your missing Iwatsubute to get the full potential out of your deck.
Deleteyes you're right, but... no money no SR
DeleteWhat about the focus deck? Did someone tried it here?
